Where are we now ?

Latest Ships Log update: Friday 30th April 2010

We have now been back in Australia for about six weeks while we take a break from cruising and wait out the SW monsoon in eastern Malaysia. The boat is safely tucked up in a Langkawi marina for the wet season.

We have been busy while we have been back and have purchased a house in Brisbane. It is only 3 km from the CBD and was built in the 1920's. It is a typical timber and tin early Queenslander on a fairly large block given its position. Hopefully it will have some capital growth potential, especially as it is a renovators delight ! Martin will be busy for the next few months getting the place in order, adding a new roof, renovating the bathrooms and giving it a full outside paint. We have also purchased a 1999 cab/chassis ute to move our building materials around.

Sue has also gone back to work and picked up an IT contract, working in her specialist area of data warehousing using SQL Server.

We also caught up with our good friends, Pete and Donna from Two Up who are also back in Oz for the monsoon and Phil and Chris from Southern Mist. who returned to Oz after the Indonesian Rally. Pete has bought himself a new 600cc two wheeler and as Phil has a Harley, he borrowed another one, lent us his and the six of us spent a fantastic day cruising around the Gold coast hinterland. Sue reckons she could get use to the Harley with its arm chair pillion seat and in helmet intercoms ! Bit different to the 125's we use in SE Asia !!

Will be back at the boat mid December for the cruising season and maybe earlier for a quick visit to make sure everything is ok if we can get cheap flights.
